Welcome

Welcome to the website for the Caddington Village Show.

If you're thinking about entering the produce show, take a look at the categories - they include vegetables, baking, crafts, photography and even creative writing so there is something for everyone, children and adults.

Our special competition for our new school and village groups is a photo montage, with prizes donated by Kodak.

This year's dog show promises to be a good one - there are lots of new puppies in Caddington this year and we hope to see them on parade!

Here's hoping the weather this year will be as brilliant as it was in 2007.

News

Elvis is in the building!

This year our special guest to open the show will be Elvis tribute act Mark Dobbs.

Mark has been performing as an Elvis tribute artist for 3 years and has worked on stage for over 20 years in different local amateur dramatic societies, playing many leading roles in that time. He currently works in the Herts, Beds and Bucks area, and performs in a variety of restaurants, pubs and clubs, as well as for many private bookings. For more information go to his website www.markdobbs.moonfruit.com.

History of the Show

The first Caddington Village Show was held at the Baptist Church in 2002 as a produce and dog show.  The following year the show moved to its current venue at Heathfield Lower School, in the heart of the village, as a produce show and craft fair.  In 2005 the organisers decided to take a well earned rest.

For a while the show was threatened with closure.  However a group of mums from the village decided the show was worth saving and decided to try attracting more villagers to the show by attempting to provide something for everyone.  They revived the dog show, expanded the craft fair, provided children’s entertainment including a free balloon modelling clown and brought in a brass band which added to the atmosphere.  As a result the day was a great success and we were overwhelmed by the response from the villagers and village businesses.

In 2007 we have a bigger and better show to look forward to, thanks to the generous sponsorship, advertising and donations from local businesses, to whom we are very grateful.  Caddington Village Show continues to be a non-profit, volunteer-run group that aims to celebrate village life. Any profits made will be ploughed back into the next show and other events we may organise for the village in the future.
