SECTION 1 – COOKERY

CLASS:                                 ENTRY FEE: 50p

 1         6 plain scones

 2         Shortbread

 3         Victoria sandwich cake (jam filling only)

 4         Coffee and walnut cake

 5         Jamaican ginger cake using recipe supplied (click here)

 6         Fruit cake

 

SECTION 2 – PICKLES & PRESERVES

CLASS:                                 ENTRY FEE: 50p

 7         1 jar of jam

 8         1 jar of pickled onions

 9         1 jar of chutney

10        1 jar of marmalade

11        1 jar of curd

12        Any bottle of wine – any ingredients

 

SECTION 3 – PHOTOGRAPHY

CLASS:                                 ENTRY FEE: 50p

13        Animals

14        Views

15        Picture of a person

16        Humorous photo with caption

17        Flower

 

SECTION 4 - CRAFTS

CLASS:                                 ENTRY FEE: 50p

18        A picture made using any embroidery/cross stitch technique

            (state if counted/printed/own design)

19        Handmade greetings card using max. A4 size card

20        An item of hand knitting

21        An item made using any other craft technique

            eg model making, calligraphy, dough craft, basket work etc

22        A drawing using pencil or charcoal

23        A painting

24        A poem

All craft items will be displayed flat on the table.

 

SECTION 5 – FRUIT & VEGETABLES

CLASS:                                 ENTRY FEE: 50p

25        Collection of vegetables
             4 different vegetables which may include any of those listed below

             ( to be displayed on a tray no bigger than 18’’ x 12’’)

26        1 cucumber

27        Plate of 4 potatoes (any colour)

28        3 carrots

29        6 runner beans

30        6 french beans

31        4 onions

32        Heaviest marrow

33        Plate of 5 tomatoes

34        Longest runner bean

35        Sweetcorn - 3 cobs

36        Most amusingly shaped fruit or vegetable

37        Lettuce

38        1 chilli plant grown from seed

39        1 small plate of apples

40        1 small plate of any other fruit

41        Bunch of any 4 herbs displayed in a jam jar or similar

 

SECTION 6 - FLOWERS

SECTION 7 – JUNIOR

Children may also enter adult classes but only points earned in the junior section will count towards the junior prizes.

All work must be by one individual only.

Craft items must be displayed flat on the table.

 

Age 0-4

48        Decorate a digestive biscuit

49        Paint a face on a paper plate (A4 size only)

50        Collage / sticking picture (A4 size only)

 

Age 5-9

51        Decorated homemade cupcakes

52        Painting or drawing (max. size A4)

53        Piece of needlecraft (sewing, knitting, patchwork etc.)

55        An edible necklace

56        Any craft model (Lego/Knex/papermache etc)

 

 

 

 

Age 10-14

58        Design a invitation for a party using max size A4 sheet of card

59        Painting or drawing (max. size A4)

SECTION 8

Schools and Group project

1 entry per school class or village group with children aged 14 or under.

 

PHOTO MONTAGE

  

Each class or group can take a maximum of 24 photos, which should be arranged on an A2 sheet of paper or card and then decorated in any way you like.

 

The theme for Caddington Village School is: My New School

The theme for Caddington Village groups is: My Village

 

Prizes include a selection of photographic equipment from Kodak. The top three school montages will be framed so you can display them in your classroom or foyer.

Caddington’s Biggest Pumpkin Competition

(open to children 14 years or under)

sponsored by Wyevale Garden Centre, Caddington

All entries must have been grown from seed distributed by the show committee earlier in the year. The size will be determined by circumference (and in the case of a tie-breaker, by weight).
